WHO WAS FRANK WILCOX?
Frank Reppy Wilcox was born in De Soto on March 13, 1907, the son of a railroad worker and law clerk. He went on to become one of the most prolific character actors in Hollywood, appearing in more than 400 films and television programs in a career that spanned five decades.
This year the film festival named in his honor will celebrate the work and career of Loretta Swit, who won two Emmy Awards for her portrayal of Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on the hit TV show M*A*S*H.

This year's festival carries a medical theme. Wilcox played doctors in the movies and on TV, and his relatives who have lived in De Soto became doctors in real life (including serving in a M*A*S*H unit during the Korean War). We have a Trivia Night at the Arlington on Friday, March 16, at the historic Arlington Hotel. On Saturday, March 17, a night with Loretta Swit at the Knights Of Columbus event center. We'll see you there!
